Locate the 16 digits of the account number on the front of the card. This number may be printed on the back as well, usually near the signature.
Look under the signature box on the back of the card for the toll-free customer service number. Call the number and look for the option to check the balance.
Enter the 16 digits of the account number that is on the card when asked. Depending on the card, you may also be asked to enter the three-digit security code printed at the end of the signature box.
Write down the balance of your card to know the purchases you make. You can use a piece of sheet or a spreadsheet program to record your purchases.
How To Find The PIN Number Of A Gift Card
Gift card PIN numbers are used to activate the card and make purchases with it. Depending on the type of card, the PIN number can be located on the back or front of the card under a scratch-off tag, or in an email, in the case of an electronic gift card.
Flip the gift card over. You should see a scratch tag or a strip of numbers on the back of the card. This is your PIN number.
Using a coin or your fingernail, gently scrape the tag to reveal its PIN number. If you have an electronic gift card, your PIN number should be in the email you received when you purchased or activated the card.
